Most people don't realize that Hippos are the most deadly animals in Africa. They graze on grass out of water and are likely to attack anything between them and returning to the safety of their normally submerged existence. This Hippo is telling us we have come close enough for his liking, so we were quick to leave him alone.

Photo taken in Botswana with Nikon D2X, 200-400mm lens at 260mm. 1/ 250s at f/9.5.
