All About Nature Photography -- All in One Place!

For those of you not familiar with NANPA is one of the oldest, largest and most respected groups of Nature Photographers in the U.S. We've been proud to be a corporate member for several years and this year are especially excited to be offering a half-day workshop on wildlife photography as part of their annual Summit in March. If you haven't been to the Summit it is a great place to meet and learn from experts in the field of nature photography, network with your peers, and get some shooting done.

The Summit is in McAllen, Texas in March. It kicks off with Workshops on March 8 and March 9 (mine is the morning of March 9th) and the main program and tradeshow exhibits run from March 10th through the 12th. I've also arranged my spring bird photo safari to start immediately after the Summit, but I've only got one space left for that.

The half-day workshop is followed by an optional guided tour of the famous Martin Refuge / Javelina property featuring its blinds and raptor feeding station with lots of good information about setting up your own "bird-friendly" environment. The details on the workhop are:

WS05:Creating Compelling Wildlife Photography in Public Parks & on Private Lands

March 9, 2011

9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  Speaker: David Cardinal
  Wednesday, March 9

Description
All nature photographers know that public parks are alive with opportunities for wildlife photography. In many cases, private lands can offer even better photographic potential. How can you best take advantage of these areas to capture the wildlife you want? The Rio Grande Valley in particular has renowned parks and wildlife refuges, and it offers private ranches with photographer-friendly blinds. Whether you're looking to visit them while you're at the Summit, returning to the valley later, or planning to go to other parks and private lands outside of South Texas, this workshop by David Cardinal will teach you what you need to know to maximize your visits. His tips are also valuable for your backyard or for the safari you're planning.

9:00am - 12:00pm

Who Should Attend

Photographers of all levels who want to learn more about shooting in parks and on private lands, and what opportunities the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas offers for wildlife photography.
